well, here's a teaser of what i ordered today.

unfortunately, as I just moved (exactly 30 days ago) to a bigger better home in a much nicer area... that's great, but now I have to get the address changed on my driver's license to buy the gun. stopping at the PennDot center on the way to the gun show tomorrow.

I guess I could have lied and said that was still my address, but as a law-abiding citizen, I will do what is required. I should be able to pick it up early next week. pics to follow.

I bought some steel water-foul shot to load it with so I don't wipe out one of my neighbors should the need ever arise to defend myself from an intruder.

anyway, going to throw a dot-site onto that, and maybe an l.e.d. flashlight attatchment.

10K are you into looks or actual performance of a weapon? I dont know what you have been told but I have used both the Aug and the M4 in combat conditions and both perform perfectly. The Aug has got to be the finest weapon in any army in the world. Loads smooth, perfectly balanced and never jams. The M4 is one of the most accurate weapons of its size. Both the M4 and M16A2 never let me down.
The AK is a great short range weapon. Anything beyond 300m and its spray and pray. Durable and reliable absolutely. Plenty of knockdown in a 7.62x39 round but just not a reach out and touch someone type of weapon.
10K do you want a weapon for show or that actually does more than put holes in paper?

whoa, now....

The SL8-6 is not some pretty looking sloppy shooter. HK doesn't make those.

I have had plenty of problems with m16/m4 style weapons. I've shot everything from .22 to 80mm. I have probably close to 5,000 hours of range time, and am a Expert 3rd award with the M16-A2, a 7 time pistol expert, a 6 time shotgun expert, earned 4 out of 4 expert quals with the MP-5, and experted dozens of times on the M249 SAW, M-60, M240-G, M2 50 cal, MK-19, and have even fired and hit 18 out of 20 rounds at 1000 yards with the Barret 50. cal.

Been there, done that. I do know what I'm talking about. I want a technologically advanced semi-auto rifle that will be different from everyone else at the range.

And, I already have a Bushmaster Carbon 15 in .223. I know what's capable of what, and I am certainly informed enough to make my own choice in the matter.

that's a state-by-state issue. In Pennsylvania, with a clear background check and the approval of the chief law enforcement officer of the county, I can legally purchase full-auto weapons, as well as sound suppressors.

the thing is, the B.A.T.F. takes forever to get the paperwork done, and there's a $400 tax for each gun/suppressor. Not to mention, the cost a full-auto weapons... some of the goodies run 15-20K

Easy 10K I was just trying to help a brotha out here. I have lots of time behind the trigger as well but it was under combat conditions not range time.
Enjoy your H&K.

My Beretta Cougar puts a nice hole in what ever I aim at, exactly where I want the hole to be. It's all metal, not a piece of plastic in it, even the grips are machined steel. Solid, blocky carved from kryptonite feel.

It has never failed me, ever. I have full confidence in all of it's 9mm's, with 3 inch groupings at 30+ yards. Loaded with mag safe rounds, I fear only the mess on the ceilings, floors and walls I shall have to clean if some stupid f'r encourages me to employ my cougars only purpose....defend mine, and my home.

_______________

This is my pistol. I have other weapons, but this is MY pistol.

There are many like it, but this one is MINE.................

you are absolutely right about combat vs. range. but let's be honest... Am I going to use this at the range? Yes. Am I going into a combat zone? Well, hopefully not. I spent a whole lot of time in CQB training, and I think the Carbon 15 is perfect for that (#1, as an affordable semi-auto solution)(#2, I ordered a red dot and tactical sling). I'll post more pics if I ever get a spare moment, but here's the Carbon (old pics).

Tomorrow I'm heading to a dealer that carries the HK, and he has already said he is out of them until at least February. The long term plan for the HK is scoped, and suppressed (suppressors are legal here). Semper Fi, brother.
